High-End Performance Shaped by Tradition

The Dual 7 Series defined an era of high-fidelity audio, earning its reputation as an icon through unparalleled durability, mechanical precision, and detailed sound reproduction. The Dual CS 718Q continues this rich heritage into the modern era, combining uncompromising audiophile performance with the modern convenience of an automatic tonearm lift.

Vibration-Free Direct Drive Technology

At the heart of the CS 718Q is a ultra-silent, quartz-stabilized direct drive motor featuring ironless air-core coils. Because there are no belts, brushes, or iron cores to introduce wearing or cogging torque, the drive operates in absolute silence. Combined with double magnetic shielding, zero motor vibration is transferred to the platter or tonearm tube, ensuring an exceptionally quiet background for your music.

Dynamic Massless Tracking & Precision Twin Gimbal Tonearm

The classic Dual twin gimbal tonearm arrangement centers the bearing points directly around the tonearm tube to eliminate tilting forces and micro-play. Featuring a carbon-aluminum sandwich construction, the tonearm tube provides high rigidity with minimal resonance.

Rather than relying purely on static gravity counterweights, tracking force is applied using a high-precision, German-wound spiral spring. This dynamic tracking method ensures the stylus maintains a consistent force regardless of turntable levelling or record warps, following complex groove modulations with unmatched accuracy.

Maximum Versatility and Ease of Use

Designed for analog enthusiasts who value versatility, the CS 718Q features a height-adjustable tonearm base (+5 mm / -2 mm) to easily optimize vertical tracking angle (VTA). The removable, precision-machined headshell includes azimuth adjustment and a quick screw-coupling mechanism, allowing cartridge changes in under a minute without needing to re-adjust settings every time.

A Solid, Resonance-Damped Foundation

The heavy MDF plinth rests on four large, height-adjustable elastomer feet designed to absorb acoustic feedback and environmental vibrations. Sitting atop a hardened steel spindle in a brass bushing is a 2.2 kg precision die-cast aluminum platter. Coated with a full-surface rubber layer on its underside and topped with a 4 mm heavy rubber mat, the platter completely deadens unwanted ring and resonance.

Whether in Satin Black or Real Walnut Wood Veneer, the Dual CS 718Q is a masterclass in German engineering—built to deliver pristine vinyl playback for generations to come.
