The Pro-Ject T2 stands as a comprehensive turntable handmade in Europe, featuring a meticulously crafted aluminum tonearm complemented by a pre-mounted Sumiko Rainier cartridge and a substantial glass platter. • Pre-adjusted Sumiko Rainier (MSRP £159)
  • 10mm, 1.7kg zero-resonance glass platter
  • Speed control with electronic speed switch
  • One-piece tonearm with integrated headshell
  • Belt-driven
  • No hollow spaces for optimal sonic performance
  • Vibration absorbing feet

New Tonearm & Anti-Skating

The T2's tonearm has been enhanced with a longer arm tube, measuring a straight, 9-inch effective length and boasting a rigid aluminium build. This one-piece tonearm is equipped with updated low-friction bearings to accommodate the increased length and diameter, ensuring precise performance. Its integrated headshell not only contributes to its sleek appearance but also minimises additional vibrations, surpassing detachable or screw/glued-on alternatives. Furthermore, the T2 features a new adjustable spring-based anti-skating mechanism, optimising cartridge performance to its fullest potential.

Speed Control, Motor and Drive

The motor and drive system in the T2 remain unchanged from the T1 model. The motor powers a belt system, connected to a newly designed sub-platter exclusive to the T-line. This sub-platter sits on an ultra-precise main bearing with a hardened steel axle and brass bushing, accurate to 0.001mm. While many other products might use unregulated DC motors with varying speeds, the T2 employs a reliable electronically regulated AC motor for precise speed control. Additionally, the T2 offers electronic speed switching between 33 and 45 RPM, ensuring a quiet and stable turntable drive system.

Semi-balanced phono cable

Similar to the T1, the T2 is equipped with specially shielded, low-capacitance phono cables designed by Pro-Ject, not standard RCA cables. It also includes a dust cover for added protection and a felt mat to safeguard your records.

The True Balanced Upgrade

The T2 features gold-plated RCA outputs with fully symmetrical signal wiring, akin to other Pro-Ject turntables with phono RCA outputs. This setup allows for upgrading to a MC cartridge or our Pick it PRO Balanced cartridge, along with using one of our balanced phono stages like the Phono Box S3 B or DS3 B, and True Balanced cables. This configuration unlocks advantages such as reduced noise, increased dynamics, cleaner transients, and deeper musical immersion. With its new 9-inch tonearm and adjustable anti-skating, the T2 pairs seamlessly with a variety of high-end MC cartridges.

Crafted using High Quality Materials

The impeccably crafted CNC-machined plinth has been enlarged to bolster stability, available in striking finishes such as High Gloss Black, Satin White, or Walnut. It features a construction devoid of plastic elements and undergoes meticulous manufacturing, eradicating any hollow spaces within to thwart unwanted chassis vibrations. Additionally, the glass platter in the T2 has been augmented in weight and thickness compared to its forerunner, ensuring a resonance-free design that effectively overcomes the limitations associated with plastic or lightweight steel alternatives. Complementing these enhancements, purpose-selected turntable feet adeptly isolate the T2 from ambient vibrations surrounding your hi-fi system.
